Can any one clarify why PMI Funding Fee? is it required even though there is a 9 monthly PMI fee? the mortgage is for a refi of 1K cash out. 95% LTV. This is in addition of closing costs of 91. The total refinancing will cost $ 9496.74.

Trying to do a refi and I was told that even if you are at 80%, with a new FHA refinance it’s still mandatory to pay MIP for 5 years. Is this right?
